Our History

FTP Inc. is an insurance wholesaler with its home base located in Old Bridge, NJ. The agency was established in 1957 by the late Frank Powell, Sr. and originally traded as the "Powell Insurance Agency". In the early 1960's Tom Powell and Pat "PJ" Powell joined the Agency. Several more Powells have been added over the years, and currently Tom, P.J., Frank, Steven, Frank Jr., and Scott are all active participants in the business.

FTP's business is generated through its network of licensed insurance brokers. The Agency represents both admitted and non-admitted insurance companies. FTP offers over 100 insurance programs including property and casualty, commercial and personal lines. In addition, markets are available for almost all classes of business or situations on a package or mono-line basis.

The knowledgeable and experienced underwriters at FTP give the agency the ability to handle small, medium, or large risks. We provide the ability to deliver quick competitive quotes and policy issuance which has propelled FTP to become one of the largest insurance wholesalers in the state of New Jersey.

In July 2016, FTP opened a 2nd location on Long Island located at 105 Maxess Road, Suite # S-133, Melville, NY 11747.

In February 2019, FTP Partnered with Lee Glaser to start FTP of California dba Hinterland Insurance in Denver, CO.

In August 2022, FTP of Florida LLC was created and specialize in flood.

In September 2023, Coastal Beltway Underwriters LLC was formed in Charlotte, NC.
